The Journey Begins

The Vitesse story began with a simple hope and a dream. Aldo DeCarolis, fueled by his passion and entrepreneurial spirit, started the company in 2000 from a modest 1½-bedroom apartment. With just three employees and loads booked by hand, Aldo’s energy and determination drove every step of the journey. His love for hockey (playing Junior Hockey in QMJHL) and his passion for golf reflect the same competitive spirit and focus he brings to building Vitesse.

From those humble beginnings, Aldo, alongside his partners Michael Scalzo (CFO), Mo Selim (VP Pharma & Healthcare Logistics), and Domenic Santini (CTO), transformed Vitesse into a thriving logistics company with a fleet of over 100 trucks and more than 300,000 square feet of warehousing space. Through the hands-on leadership and relentless drive of the ‘Core Four,’ they shaped a company culture that values hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing what’s right for clients and team members alike.

The vision of Vitesse remains clear: to build one of North America’s most trusted pharma logistics companies, grounded in reliability, security, and genuine care for every shipment and every person involved.

Each leader brings a unique strength, but one stands out for his specialized expertise in pharmaceutical logistics: Dr. Emidio DeCarolis, Ph.D., Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.

Dr. Emidio DeCarolis, Vice President of Regulatory and Quality Assurance & Operations Consultant, blends over 20 years of pharmaceutical research and regulatory leadership with a passion for operational excellence. His deep scientific knowledge and strategic vision have been instrumental in building Vitesse’s pharmaceutical division into a trusted partner for controlled-temperature and GDP/GMP-compliant transport. Emidio’s leadership ensures that every shipment meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and care.
